About Us

Moore Veterinary Services was founded by Dr. Katelyn Moore with a mission to address the critical need for large animal veterinary care in Washington County, PA, and its surrounding areas.
After earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, Dr. Moore swiftly identified the community's demand for specialized large animal services.
In July 2021, Moore Veterinary Services officially launched as a registered LLC, with Dr. Moore initially providing in-home and on-the-farm veterinary care from her personal SUV. As demand grew, so did the need for expanded capabilities.
By September 2021, the practice upgraded to a dedicated service truck—a Toyota Tundra equipped with a Bowie Cobalt vet box. This upgrade significantly enhanced the practice's ability to respond swiftly to farm emergencies, housing essential medicines, equipment, a refrigeration unit, and even a hot water tank—all tailored to meet the diverse needs of the farming community.

Dr. Katelyn Moore, DVM (along with Bentley, Dr. Moore's companion Rottweiler) is proud to serve the region as "Southwestern Pennsylvania's Farm Vet."

Moore Veterinary Service's farm call truck is fully stocked and ready to answer the needs of Southwestern Pennsylvania's farming community.

In response to growing demand, Moore Veterinary Services expanded its offerings in 2022 by opening a satellite small-animal clinic at the Pampered Paw Resort campus on Washington Road/US-19 in Washington. This move facilitated a transition from in-home house calls to providing comprehensive small-animal medical services. The Washington Road clinic operated by appointment on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Dr. Katelyn Moore is deeply committed to supporting local fairs and 4-H shows, exemplified by offering discounted farm call rates for 4-H fair animals. Annually, Moore Vet Services hosts low-cost haul-in health paper days leading up to events such as the Washington and West Alexander fairs. Dr. Moore has served as the attending on-call veterinarian for these fairs over the past three years.
Recognized for excellence, Moore Veterinary Services was honored as a "Best of the Best" finalist in the category for "best veterinarian" by the Observer-Reporter in 2022 and 2023.
On July 3, 2024, Moore Veterinary Services proudly unveiled its new full-service clinic at 2140 S-Bridge Road, just west of Washington, Pennsylvania. This new facility underscores Dr. Moore's commitment to advancing veterinary care in Washington County and beyond. Alongside its small-animal services, the clinic features dedicated haul-in facilities for large animals, marking a significant step toward establishing comprehensive large-animal veterinary care in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

07/04/24 - Washington County Agricultural Fair 2024: Moore Veterinary Services is proud to support our local youth in agriculture and has once again signed on to be the official veterinary service of Washington County Agricultural Fair. We provide discounted rates for our local FFA and 4H students while completing their fair projects and will once again offer a haul-in health paper day with the goal of keeping costs low for students. We wish all our clients and friends the best of luck and a fun and successful fair season in 2024! See you at the fairgrounds!!

07/03/24 - New Expanded Clinic Featuring Haul-In Facilities: Moore Veterinary Services is thrilled to announce the opening of their new expanded facilities just ten minutes west of Washington, PA. The new clinic campus will feature a spacious reception area, multiple exam rooms, a large treatment area, surgical suite, haul-in facilities for large animal patients and trailers, and much more. The new facilities are already partially in use and we are hoping to have the main phase of the project completed and in use by the end of 2024!

04/26/24 - Trinity Vet Tech Live Demo - Dr. Katelyn and the staff from Moore Veterinary Services dropped in to the Vet Tech classes at Trinity High School on Friday to do some hands-on demonstrations with horses and goats! Dr. Moore and Nikki were able to teach some common practices and handling techniques and the students even got to try for themselves! 11/01/23 - Best of the Best: Back to Back Finalists! - Moore Veterinary Services is honored to have been named an Observer-Reporter Best of the Best finalist for "Best Veterinarian" in the Washington & Greene County Areas for the second consecutive year! The Best of the Best is a yearly contest voted on by the people to determine the best businesses in our community. We thank our amazing clients, friends, and family for taking the time to vote for us once again!

07/11/23 - Washington County & West Alexander Agricultural Fairs: For the third year, Moore Veterinary Services will once again be working as the official fair vet service for both Washington County and West Alexander Fairs! We support our community's future in agriculture by offering discounted farm call rates for 4H projects throughout the summer and host Be sure to say hello if you see us and flag us down if you need something as we will be making rounds through the barns daily!

05/06/23 - Running of the Wools in Washington, PA: Moore Veterinary Services was thrilled to be an official sponsor and on-site veterinarian for the Running of the Wools in Downtown Washington, PA. Dr. Moore was able to keep a close eye on the contestants and a great time was had by all! The Wools event was a rousing success and was created to celebrate the agricultural roots of Washington County! Moore Veterinary Services is proud to support all things agriculture in our region! Congrats to "Baaaad Company," inaugural winner of the Running of the Wools!!

06/11/22 - Small Animal Satellite Clinic: Moore Veterinary Services, LLC is proud to announce a new partnership with Pampered Paw Resort at their all-new campus on Route 19 North (between Davis School and Racetrack Roads). This exciting new venture will accommodate multiple exam rooms to accommodate our small animal clients and will assist us by providing a much-needed physical address! Pampered Paw is Washington's premier doggy daycare service and their new location will also include in-house grooming by Dazzling Doggos. The facility is expected to be fully operational by the end of June.

10/4/21 - Clairton, PA Rabies Clinic: Moore Veterinary Services is excited to partner up with Who Rescued Who Humane Society at their facility at 430 N. 10/1/21 - Trinity High School Vet Tech Program: As a proud alumna of Washington's Trinity High School (Class of 2011), Dr. Moore is excited to give back to the community by volunteering as a member of the advisory committee for Trinity High School's Veterinary Technology Program beginning in the 2021 school year. 09/05/21 - West Alexander Fair: Moore Veterinary Services is again excited to support our local youth in agriculture by partnering with the West Alexander Fair to provide on-call veterinary services throughout fair week. 08/18/21 - Delivery Day for New Equipment: Moore Veterinary Services is delighted to take delivery of new equipment to better serve our clients and community! We are excited to add a new Toyota Tundra and vet box from Bowie International to our inventory, which will allow us to carry more equipment and increase our emergency response times. The vet box has its own self-contained heated water tank, refrigeration, heat, and ample storage space for gear and medicine! We'd also like to give a special shout-out to our good friends and family at All Ways Moving & Storage for the logistics assist on the box installation!

08/14/21 - See You at the Fair: Moore Veterinary Services has been proud to support our local youth in agriculture throughout the summer by offering discounted rates for market animals and health certificates and we are excited to keep the ball rolling as the on-call veterinarian of the 2021 Washington County Agricultural Fair!
